OUTLINE & INTRODUCTION
It should be said that Paul's letter to the Romans is all about God's righteousness imputed and imparted to mankind and that this involves making us right with Himself. This theme runs throughout the letter as follows:
Chapter 1 verses 1 - 17 Introduction & greetings.
Chapter 1 verse 18 -
Chapter 3 verse 20 The need for righteousness.
The absolute necessity of all mankind to be made right
with God.
Chapter 3 verse 21 -
Chapter 4 verse 25 The means of righteousness.
The one and only way God can make us right with Himself.
Chapter 5 verse 1 -21 The effects of righteousness.
The personal and global effects of God making us right with
Himself.
Chapters 6/7/8 The power of righteousness
God making us right with Himself changes our relationship
to sin, to the law, and to God Himself.
Chapters 9/10/11 The scope of righteousness.
God making us right with Himself will result in universal
blessing.
Chapters 12/13/14/15 The practise of righteousness.
God making us right with Himself in every day action.
