ROMANS UNWRAPPED 23

"Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.   AMEN.    Romans 1 v 25.

It is fitting, as we bring this first chapter to a close, to highlight the main thrust of the passage; that is, not that men have rejected God, and as a result, have, to a greater or lesser degree, sunk to moral depravity..............but that God is " blessed forever. AMEN."

He is blessed forever.....Amen.....so let it be......it will be...... nothing will prevent it, not the sin of man, not the rejection by man, not the perversion of man, God will be glorified, and extolled universally; in the language of king David, the Psalmist, "everything that hath breath shall praise the Lord. HALLELUJAH" Psalm 150 v 6.
Indeed this is always the main thrust of the scriptures, what each portion reveals about God.

Here, in this passage, as the apostle trawls the depths of human shame, his spirit rises to grasp the heights of Divine glory. This present order of things will not always prevail, God will be blessed.
The last place you would expect to find an AMEN would be here. In a world, created to worship God, and which today, humiliatingly, worships those on the same level, or on a lower level, nevertheless that same world will bless God, for ( their ) better or worse. No matter what, GOD WILL BE BLESSED FOREVER!
It is against the backdrop of human depravity, Paul utters this glorious doxology. The Creator will be blessed, sin will be eradicated, root and branch, from His universe, sinners will be banished from His presence, and God will usher in universal harmony. Ephesians 1 v 10. There will be no more disturber, or disturbance to the peace of the universe. This glorious chorus resounds throughout the bible, and we should lift ourselves from the moral mire, which is this world, and fix our thoughts on the world to come, and along with the saints of the Old Testament and Paul, Peter, James & John in the New Testament look forward to the coming of the day of God.

The New Testament apostles often did that in their writings and that is because their hearts were flooded with the glory of God and we should follow their example.

Romans  9 v 5  - " Of whom, as concerning the flesh, the Christ, who is overall God blessed forever."
Romans 11 v 36  - "Of Him, and through Him, and unto Him are all things to whom be glory forever Amen."
Romans 16 v 20 - "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.   The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you,  Amen."
Romans 16 v 27 - " To God only wise be glory through Christ Jesus forever,  Amen."
Galatians 1 v 5 - "God our Father to whom be glory forever and ever, Amen."
Ephesians 3 v 21 - "To Him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus, unto all the generations of the age of the ages, Amen."
Philippians 4 v 20 - "Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever, Amen."
1st Timothy 1 v 17 - "Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory forever and ever, Amen."
1st Timothy 6 v 15 - 16 - "Who is the blessed and only POTENTATE, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS; who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no-one has seen, or can see, to whom be honour and power everlasting, Amen."
2nd Timothy 4 v 18 - "To whom be glory forever and ever, Amen."
Hebrews 13 - 21 - "Jesus Christ to whom be glory forever and ever, Amen."
1st Peter 4 v 11 -  "Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever, Amen."
1st Peter 5 v 11 -  "To Him be glory and dominion forever, Amen."
2nd Peter 3 v 18   "To Him be glory both now and forever, Amen."
Jude 1 v 25 -   "To the only wise God our Saviour be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever, Amen."
Revelation 1 v 6 - "To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever, Amen."
Revelation 5 v 14 - And the four living ones said Amen, and the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that lives forever and ever."
Revelation 7 v 12 - "Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might be unto our God forever and ever, Amen."
Revelation 22 v 20 - "Surely I come quickly, Amen even so come Lord Jesus."

AMEN   -    Let it be:      AMEN   -   It will be.

This glorious strain pervades the whole of scripture, and it will be for our blessing if we catch the spirit of it, and live in the good of it.

If today, you are sceptical, or agnostic, or atheist, or even just doubtful, let me close by giving you this word.   The section began with God against men who are living in ungodliness and unrighteousness.   Scriptures assert, that no matter what happens God will be blessed forever.   Wouldn't you rather have God on your side than against you,? because in this battle of wills there is only one winner, and you would do well to have Him for you rather than against you.

Tomorrow religious man inexcusable.   Romans chapter 2 - 3
